Reflections.....

Reflections……

I’m going through a bit of a transition in my life.  You know, that feeling you get when God starts knocking and says, “were moving into a new season.”  Well I don’t know exactly what God has for me but one thing I’m sure of is, I need to pick the books up again and get my PT exam out of the way.

I’ll be studying for the ACE Personal Training certification, it should take me 5-6 months.   I’m more engergized than ever that this is what I need to do.  I’m Mad Dogg (Spin) certified, and Group Fitness certified, this is the next natural progression.  I feel a burning in my belly to help overweight women overcome their weight and recapture their lives.  I feel so much compassion for them when they take my spin class and they sit in the back, away from everyone else.  I’ve been training on the side for free for a couple of ladies, they are so grateful and it is such a passion for me.  I’m excited about the journey and pray I’ll stay dedicated to the studying that  needs to happen to pass with success.

Then I’ll get paid to train and work your boo-tays!

Get to those books!!! Can you imagine how many woman you can encourage? What a gift in itself!! If I were to pick a passion for a job it would definietly be in the fitness field. Maybe I can follow your lead and take a big step in faith.

Good luck! I used to teach group fitness classes part-time. It was a lot of fun to motivate people, esp. older women like me, to meet their fitness goals. I had considered possibly taking the next step into becoming a personal trainer too but decided to get into tris and travel so I could spend more quality time with my husband instead. Plus, never having been really overweight in my life, I'm not sure I could really understand some clients' weight problems. I admire the passion you have to help them.

If I see one more picture of a stability ball on your blog that you aren't balancing on, I'll tell all of my celebrity friends (Dave Scott, Rachel, Deena, Emeril, the whole crew) to blackball you. And, even if you and Jennifer run 1:59 half marathons, I'll tell David to keep his shirt on when you cross the finish line.

C'mon, let's see the Queen of the Stability Ball, not some incredibly hot model (who bears a physical resemblance to Victoria Beckham in one area), pictured on your blog. Where's the YouTube video?

Shannon -

I was so upset seeing a hot model with a stability ball rather than you, I didn't initially notice the new music on your blog. After going back again to see the picture, thinking that maybe the hot model was you, I heard the music and really liked it.

Who is it and can you e-mail it to me? I'll ask my friend David to be nice to you and Jennifer in return.

Shannon! Aloha! I love your blog and am now "following" it!
I am still looking for a spinning class that I can take before or after work. I am very inspired by your compassion to help people attain their fitness goals. Good look on your PT certification, you'll do great I'm sure!

Good luck getting ready for that certification!

(and the chick-flick was "The Other Boleyn Girl" which, in the end, they said wasn't that much of a chick-flick.) ;)

Good luck getting certified. I always would like to try to do that one day as well.

"mad dog" certified also, I think I would be scared to go to your spin class.

God bless you for jumping back in. I know that "going back to school" on any level can be super tough while working and having family duites. ( I know it was almost impossible when I went back for my MBA)

What a great opportunity to give some back and to help motivate others into a healthier lifestyle. I can only imagine the rewards. I'm jealous too. I would love to have a job in athletics...

Where have you been all my life! Well, not my whole life, just since I was 22!
