So I was reading the Trail Running Goddesses Blog when I came across this little gem, "I had a great run/WOD today. Ran 7 miles . Every mile I did 50 squats and 50 Lunges. I call it the leg killer because by the end my legs are killing."
Here is the Challenge
-Run 7 miles
-After each mile stop do 50 squats or 50 lunges
-After the 7th mile do 60 squats
No Cheating...
Quads were on Fire!

I think I would die! LOL
No. I'm not ready. Didn't someone say something about Chocolate Peanut Butter in a blog close to this one? I'm sure a nap will help me get ready.
Good stuff...oh I got some leg workouts that will make you want to write bad checks...REALLY!...
aye carumba!
The thing is the guy is only 38 years old in the picture...
If I did lunges after the first mile...
Continuation: I wouldn't get back up..
Would that be 50 lunges per leg or walking lunges at each mile?
Just curious. ;)
Whoa. I'd have to start with 10, but yeah, FIYAH!
o hell naw... ;-)
My legs would fall off, but I think I will try it. That is a hardcore workout!
It was tough, but if you have a strong base in your running then you can do this! It changes things up. :)
@ Jo Lynn....just stop running and do the squats. Catra did 50 squats AND 50 lunges, but I'm not smoking enough crack to do that one! hehe
DAMN!! I love it. Gonna need to try that this weekend!!!
awesome Shannon!! I usually do the leg workout before the running but I must try your workout next time! Good job girl!
Is this just for warm ups? Are the squats and lunges one legged or two? Are the miles all sub 7:00 pace or faster? When can you advance this beginner's exercise to something a little more challenging?
My quads are screaming just reading this :-)
I am w/Shirley. Actually, I think I have to take the day off and not run tomorrow after reading this.
Wow, ok, I can not do that now, but I love a good challenge, I am saving this and I gonna do it some time this year. This is good. Thanks for sharing.
I think my arm could be twisted....
not a chance in h-e-double hockey sticks
I am going to try this tonight. I am not up to 7 miles right now, but as I do my weenie 3 or so. I will run a mile, do a # of squats - don't want to totally committ to 50...but I will try! then run another mile.....and so. I am sure it will hurt!
