Five Things Fall

Fall has finally arrived here in the Old Dominion. Summer is officially gone and we are welcomed by the early morning temps of 45 and as the morning yawns and the sun comes out we warm up to 65-70. Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons of the year.

What's Awesome About Fall....

1.) Football

~I love Sunday & Monday football games. I love to get in my sweatpants, sweatshirt, & watch the Redskins play (Please fire-Jim Zorn). I might not be sitting in front of the TV the whole time, but I have to have the sound of the game piped through the house on my Bose speakers. This ritual of fall brings me back to a better time when I was a kid, so I feel somewhat nostalgic.

2. Fall Runs

~Not too cold, not too hot, just right! Virginia sure is a purty time to go on a run, the leaves are beautiful!

3.) Pumpkins on a porch

~I love the look of pumpkins on a porch. Doesn't have to be my porch, just anybodies porch. It says to me, "Welcome Fall!" I hope I don't leave mine on the porch until Christmas this year. ;)

4.) Pumpkin Spice Latte....

~Dayum you Starbucks! 300 calories (Tall) ain't too bad, right?

5.) Soups & Stews

~Back to cooking up soups, stews, & liquid elixirs. I love a cool night with hot soup and fresh bread out of the oven to go with it.

________________________________

Triathlon/Racing season is officially over and I'm still thinking about what races/rides I want to do next year. I absolutely fell in love with the century, so maybe two next year or one century and one metric. I know I'll attempt to conquer the sub 2:00 in March when I do the Shamrock 1/2 Marathon but I'm not sure what else I may do in 2010.

How does everyone feel about the end of the season?
Happy Fall Ya'll!

I think the turning of the leaves is my favorite time of year. It's all too short though. End of the season is a time to recoup, reinvigorate. There's more work to be done :-)

Fall is my favorite time of year; too bad we don't really get it as an actual season here in FL.

I too am sad to see the end of the season. But, coming off a knee injury and slowly working my way back into running, I look forward to spending the next few months building a good base again with a lot of strengthening/stretching exercises! That way, I am ready to go next spring!

I lurve stews and soups.

Yum!

You don't look like you have to worry about calorie counting, sister.

But if I even looked at a 300-calorie latte, all that fat would just go straight to my n*ts@ck.

Hmmm ... that could be a good thing though. Right?

Thank-you for posting the pictures of the Fall Leaves! That is the one thing besides my great friends that I miss, the west coast doesn't have fall leaves! :(

NOOOO! DON'T fire Zorn as the redskins coach. We Dallas Cowboy fans enjoy watching his games!

You guys make me smile.....

@ G.....fat going to your n*ts@ck could be a "good" thing, right?

@ Dave & Mark......I still love you even though I loathe the Cowboys!

Have a great weekend guys.

Now that's what I miss about the North!! Thanks for the pictures. We go through one day of Fall into Winter and then back to Summer the next! Pretty boring.

Hi, got here from GQH. I stopped and looked at that first phone for a while. Those oranges are my totally favourite colour, after plaid. I miss the maple leaves changing. Not many maples here.

Football, schmootball. meh.

Fall runs, another nice photo. Who wouldn't love running there?

Pumpkin spiced latte??? There are some sick and twisted people in the world.

Oh, and the guy doing plank on the fit ball is a mutant. Or a killer robot from the future. Or something not human.

LOVE fall. The crisp air is delightful. And I suddenly start craving soup and baked goods. Then, I suddenly start craving to MAKE soup and baked goods! And as a race season, fall rocks! My own 1/2 marathon in 4 weeks.

Ahh, I would look forward to fall too but there are a few significant differences. Are highs are your lows. As a graduate of Kempsville High in VaBeach, I can say that your fall is more fall than our Minnesota falls.

My second "problem" is that we really didn't have any summer this year. Only 2 days over 90 degrees if I remember correctly.

And about the only reason that I don't miss living in Va Beach is that I don't have to deal with living around people that like the Redskins. But I would be willing to deal with it if I had to ;-)

I wish my season was over - waaaaaa. Yep, no more late season racing for me! I can't wait for a slight change of direction for the next couple of months. I love fall. Love me some soups and stews too!
