I'm such a Fruit!

I want to thank cutie-pie Jess for pitching me these questions.  They were thought provoking and I think you do get a better glimpse into a little bit more of me.

Here the questions Jess sent to me:

1. What is the greatest challenge about balancing training with other aspects of your life?
The greatest challenge about balancing training with other aspects of my life is that I run out of time.  I love being a Wife, Mother, Trainer, Teacher, Friend, etc.  It seems that I have too many "loves" in my life and something doesn't get enough of my time.  I've actually gotten better about this over the years but I have to be careful not to load my plate too full with a lot of things I love to do.  When I 've found a good balance, I stay very organized.  I have a schedule for training and my life, this keeps me on track with my responsibilities.

2. In terms of running, what's your favorite race experience?

In terms of running my favorite race experience was the Inaugural Rock N' Roll Marathon in 1998.  It was my first racing experience and Team In Training helped me capture a passion for fitness again.  I loved this race because I was four months pregnant with my second child, trained for over 6 months (at the time this seemed forever), and in my mind never thought I would actually complete it.  When I crossed the finish line over 8 hours later (yes, you read that right) I can't put into words the feelings that came over me.  I was so proud of myself; it was a moment I'll never forget as long as I live.

3. If you were to select a food that best describes your character, what would it be and why?

The food that best describes my character is a Fruit Bowl, always good for you, colorful, and you want to take it to parties!

4. What's the best part about where you live?

The best part of where I live is that there is so much to do with your family.  We live near one of the best amusement parks, awesome beaches, Williamsburg, museums, and a few hours from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

5.  If you could teach your children only one lesson in life, what would it be?

The one lesson in life I want my children to know is, no matter what you may go through in life, God will never leave you nor forsake you. {Hebrews 13:5} In times of trouble always look to your Heavenly Father; He wants the best for you.  I just want to add one more lesson, I always want them to be kind and compassionate to everyone they meet, if they do this they will have many friends and build many bridges.

To play along:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. ( I get to pick the questions).
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Who's up for a little questioning?

Great lesson for the kids. On a related note, ours have learned (and know and believe) that they are God's most prized possession. :-)

wow that was neat! I am not a mom yet so I can't imagine trying to juggle it all and keep an excellent attitude about it. I'd love to be interviewed just don't ask me to only eat 1 food for the rest of my life or to be stuck in like Alaska with a toothpick to find my way out.

I wish I could say the same about the fruit bowl, though mine would probably be filled with Doritos. I have no idea how you stay so motivated - some days I just want to wear pajamas all day. Though you will be pleased to know that I did a full hour of Biggest Loser yoga today...

Interview me.
