It's in the bag...

.........11 miles that is!

 ~Hallelujah~
About 3/4 into it I felt my hamstrings getting tight.  Instead of stopping I kept hearing BP's voice say, "Don't stop, remember your a Queen!"  Thanks for that BP, I love being called a Queen.  It was a 60 degree morning with 77% humidity.  Not as nice as last week, but I'll take it.  After I stretched, iced,  and refueled with a small egg white omelet I was on to lift the iron and take Em to get her 6th grade shots.  She did great too.

About 2 1/2 weeks to go until race day........

Queen -

Excellent run. It sounds like you got the weather that plagued many people here running the Chicago Marathon on Sunday. Too warm for October, but you made it. I didn't read anything about your knee - pain or clicking, so that must not be an issue. Excellent.

2.5 weeks until race day means you just need two more solid training runs. So, if the half goes well, will you run a marathon before you endeavor an IM?

Thanks peeps....encouraging you (and me) is why I put this blog together.

BP, you encourage me! Will I run a marathon? Maybe if you hold my hand the whole way. The last time I did one I was 4 months pregnant and it took 8 hours to complete. Yikes!

A woman ran this year's Chicago Marathon 8 months pregnant. She finished in about 5 1/2 to 6 hours. I honestly think that what she did was dangerous given her advanced stage and the heat. But, she did it.

Do a marathon while pregnant? I wouldn't recommend it, to harsh on the body. It was a great experience, very memorable but it scared me from doing another one.

I forgot to tell you, no knee issues. I'm remembering to ice/stretch really good. :)

I noticed that you didn't mention any knee problems in the original post and commented on it in my response. Obviously, the strap has helped but I'm sure that the underlying joint and muscles are getting stronger. Excellent.
