Beach 2 Battleship Part 4

Good News........

I started out today on a beautiful fall 70 degree morning in the Old Dominion.  I had the cute pink tank, water, tunes, and sport beans.  I needed to complete a 9 mile run "comfortably". Well I finished 9 with no clicking, pain, or discomfort in the knee! Yahoo...... I had the beans at the 5 mile mark, then ran three before my final mile where I drank some gatorade and finished.

Ok the Bad News........

Wrong Socks + Rubbing = Blisters!

I know BP & SM would appreciate my "true grit" and kept up with my run.

At least I had that cute tank on! Can you say....OUCH?!?

I can say ouch! That's gonna hurt in the morning and, well the rest of the day.

They look like little hearts. You should write above it "I" and below it "running" in marker. So when you are going barefoot, people would see "I (heart) running" on the backs of your heels. That's dedication! :-)

Blister Queen -

First and foremost, congrats on running 9 miles, especially with no knee problems. Second and fivemost (comes after foremost), nice choice in running shoes. They look like Gel Nimbus, which is my preference.

Now, about the blister thing. I'd suggest washing them well, then putting on a disinfectant and band aids immediately. Keep up that regimen regularly. You can't afford for them to get infected. In addition to obviously wearing longer socks, consider putting Body Glide on your heals / achilles tendons. If you have another good pair of running shoes, you may want to wear them for a while since the current shoes may rub the scars, even with higher socks.

Keep up the good work and thanks for providing me with yet another forum to waste away time on line.

Thanks peeps for all the encouraging comments. Kay, I might have drawn the hearts with a sharpie but my running coach, BP says I have to wash and keep clean my blisters.

BP, thanks for the tips bro, I appreciate it!

Ouch, that looks pretty darn painful!! You are tougher than I am for sure.... :-) Hardcore is what I say.....

I know the one time that I raced a sprint race without socks I swore I would NEVER go sockless again. I had terrible blisters after the 5k run. Socks are worth the transition time! :-) IMHO
